The International Movement ATD Fourth World and the International Committee for October 17th, invite you to the 33rd commemoration of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty at the United Nations on Friday, October 17th.
October 17th was recognized by the United Nations in1992 as the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty with resolution 47/196. On this day, people with a direct experience of poverty share their knowledge, insight, and experiences with Member States, dignitaries, and allies to promote dialogue and understanding.
This year’s theme, “Ensuring respect and effective support for families,” honors that tradition by asking Activists to share the experiences of families in their communities and share what effective support is needed.
