International initiatives such as the Compromiso de Sevilla and the emerging UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation recognize that stronger global coordination on fair taxation is essential to overcome social inequalities. Their aims include curbing illicit financial flows, safeguarding taxing rights, and strengthening domestic resource mobilization through more inclusive and equitable tax governance. A central objective of the international reform agenda is to enhance states’ capacities to deliver effective social protection—an area of growing importance for securing living incomes and advancing gender equality and social justice.
This virtual event will explore how global tax reforms as addressed with the Sevilla Commitments and the emerging UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation can support developing countries in broadening their tax bases, improve compliance, and building more sustainable and equitable social security systems.
The event will take place via Zoom. Please register until 25 February 2026 here. You will receive the Zoom link with your registration.
