| |
We are pleased to send you some important information about the GCSPF and its members' engagement at this year's UN Commission on Social Development (CSocD64).
The United Nations Commission for Social Development (CSocD) has the responsibility to provide advice to the UN on social development issues. The CSocD plays a vital role in promoting social policies that support the overall development goals of the UN, particularly in relation to eradicating poverty, advancing social integration, and ensuring full employment and decent work. The 64th Session of CSocD is taking place at UN Headquarters in New York from 2 to 10 February 2026. The priority theme is Advancing Social Development and Social Justice through Coordinated, Equitable, and Inclusive Policies. From Declaration to Implementation: Advancing the Doha Commitments through Coordinated Action and Collaboration |
| |
| |
At the Second World Summit for Social Development, governments adopted the Doha Political Declaration, reaffirming global solidarity and renewing their collective commitment to advancing social development and promoting a fairer, more sustainable world through coordinated policies. Sustaining the momentum generated in Doha now depends on rapid and effective implementation of the Declaration, which is essential for meeting expectations and delivering concrete improvements in people’s lives.
The Global Coalition for Social Justice, through its collaborative and multi-stakeholder approach, offers a practical mechanism to help translate these commitments into tangible progress by promoting coordinated, equitable, and inclusive policies. This high-level event held under the auspices of the Coalition, will allow partners to engage around practical pathways and policy solutions for putting the Declaration into action and advancing social development and social justice on the ground.
