Join us at the official virtual side event “After the World Social Summit - Universal Social Protection Floors (USPF) as a framework for a sustainable future,” that will discuss the state of social protection in Asia, Africa and Latin America and delve into the financial conditions of countries in relation to the USPF framework.
The role of civil society to engage with the governments to adopt a national framework on social protection will be discussed. Adoption of the USPF in the low and middle income countries is not possible without the global cooperation (SDG 17) on financing by the wealthy nations.
The event will discuss the commitments made in the Financing for Development 4 conference held in Seville in July 2025.
The side event will take place on Tuesday, 14th July, 2026 at 9 am - 10.30 am EDT (1 pm GMT - 2.30 pm GMT). Check your local time here.
The event is organised by the Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) and coorganised by the Global Coalitions for Social Protection Floors (GCSPF), African Platform for Social Protection Floors (APSP), CONGOMA (Malawi), Polycom Girls (Kenya), NGO Federation of Nepal, Asia Dalit Rights Forum (ADRF), Equity Society Nepal (ESN), Global Forum on Communities Discriminated by Work and Descent (GFOD), Pakistan Development Alliance (PDA), Wada Na Todo Abhiyan (India), Noakhali Rural Development Society (Bangladesh), Coordination Committee of Cambodia (CCC), Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement (PRRM), South Asian Alliance for Poverty Eradication (SAAPE), LDC Watch, Heinrich Boell Stiftung Washington DC, International Labour Organisation (ILO), Asian Roundtable on Social Protection (AROSP) and Rural Reconstruction Nepal (RRN).
